Build, Break & Event Access

Car Clubs and Display Car Owners have access to the event site on Thursday 22nd August, 09:00-19:00 and Friday 23rd August, 08:00-09:00.

Under no circumstances are children under the age of 16 to be allowed on site before the event opening times, during the build and break periods.

Access to the event site will not be granted without:

  • Submission of Form 1 - Compulsory Declaration & Additional Requirements and all Essential Paperwork

  • Completion of Form 2 - Site Induction

  • A completed Car Club Vehicle Pass or Display Vehicle Pass, printed and displayed in the windscreen (if arriving in a vehicle)

  • All club members/display car owners wearing a high-vis vest, which must be worn at all times during the build and break periods

The campsites open to the public at 14:00 on Thursday 22nd August. Roads around the event site will become busy from around 12:00, we therefore urge you to arrive on site to set up as early as you can, and be patient.

Please note that there will be Track Testing taking place from 10:00-11:30 on Friday 23rd August. Movement around the event site will be limited during this time.

Build Up

We understand that it may be essential that some display vehicles are removed from the event site each night, and returned the following morning. If this is the case for your vehicle, please make your Floor Manager aware upon arrival. You must not move your vehicle when the event is open unless prior approval has granted by your Floor Manager, who will inform you of a safe exit route. Departure will only commence when it is safe to do so (when the area is clear of public), approx. 30 minutes after the area closes.

Timings for returning your display vehicle are:

Friday 23rd August: 07:00-08:00
Saturday 24th August: 07:00-08:00
Sunday 25th August: 07:00-08:00

All vehicles must be in position by 09:00 at the latest.

Vehicle Movement During Event Open Hours

Car Clubs and Display Car Owners are permitted to exit on Sunday 25th August in the evening, subject to your Floor Managers approval and with clear guidance and instructions on a safe exit route. If you intend to leave your display vehicle onsite overnight, breakdown access is from 08:00 on Monday 26th August.

Under no circumstances are children under the age of 16 to be allowed on site before the event opening times, during the build and break periods.

Please be aware that:

  • On Monday 26th August the Overton Road is one-way from the Carfest site Southbound to the A303. No vehicles can access the site Northbound from the A303 until after 13:00.

All Car Clubs and Display Cars must be clear of their area by 18:00 on Monday 26th August.

  • Any material left onsite after 18:00 on Monday 26th August will be deemed as rubbish and cost of removal will be charged to the Car Club/Display Car Owner. Photo evidence will be provided in any cases where charges are applied.

It is imperative that Car Clubs and Display Car Owners abide by the instructions given by our Traffic Marshals, Floor Managers and Site Safety Team during the breakdown.

Breakdown

All vehicles should approach the event from the South / A303, leaving at the Micheldever Station exit. Follow event signage towards Overton and enter the site at Gate B (What3Words ///amazed.hazy.fool) or Google Maps link here

Do not approach the event site from Overton Village – this will cause delays and congestion.

Please be aware that:

  • Upon arrival, you will be checked in by the Traffic Marshal Team who will direct you to your location, and then met by your Floor Manager who will show you to your display area.

  • There will be a one-way system in operation on the event site.

  • You must follow internal signage and follow the direction of Traffic Marshals.

  • You must obey the speed limit of 5mph.

Vehicle Access

If you are taking public transport, we recommend heading into Overton or Basingstoke and getting a taxi to the event site from there. Overton Train Station is approx. a 10-minute drive to the event site, and Basingstoke is approx. a 20-minute drive.

There is a designated taxi drop off and pick up, which can also be used if being dropped off by a friend or family member. Direct the driver to Gate A1 during build and break days or to gate A2 during the event live days (Friday to Saturday). From here follow the signs to production.

We will brief all local taxi firms in advance of the show where this is and that under no circumstances will pick-ups or drop-offs occur anywhere else.
