Event Site & Track Rules
Everyone is reminded that CarFest operates under CDM regulations. Therefore, all personnel entering the site during the build and break periods are required to bring and wear a hi-vis vest. Should you not have a hi-vis vest, there will be available some to buy at the Production Pad upon arrival at the event.
Track Show Entrants will only be permitted access to the site once they have completed and agreed to all rules in the Site Induction.
Any activity deemed “unsafe” can and will be stopped at any time by the onsite Operations or Site Safety team.
No one is permitted to bring their own alternative fuel (i.e. other than unleaded or electric) to site, unless agreed with the Operations team in writing.
No one is permitted to bring their own generator.
No vehicles will be permitted to remain on site while the show is open, unless they are part of the paddock display.
No paddock bikes or electric bikes are permitted within the show site.
Under no circumstances are children under the age of 16 to be allowed on site before the event opening times, during the build and break periods.
No animals and/or birds are allowed on site during build, event open or break.
You are permitted to bring your own electrical equipment as long as it has a current PAT certificate. If you need one please visit www.nationalpattesting.co.uk.
Vehicles must not be left unattended with their keys on site.
MSVR (MotorSport Vision Racing) have been appointed by CarFest Management Ltd to manage the operation of the track. We ask that you and your appointed drivers respect and and abide by the direction of their marshals at all times.
Participation in any Track Show (by either yourself or an appointed driver) is subject to completion on the MSVR Activity Registration Form.
It is mandatory that all drivers attend the Drivers Briefing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at the Drivers Lounge. If you miss the briefing please report to Race Control.
You are reminded that CarFest is a procession/demonstration around the track and not a race. This is a public festival and as such part of its charm is being able to get the pubic close to the track without the use of race required barrier or controls. Please drive well within yours and the cars abilities and always as directed by the MSVR Team.
If you wish to take passengers in your car you must speak to Liz Goodrich in advance and complete the required form before entry is granted onto the track (passengers must be aged 14 and over). It is the driver’s responsibility to provide the passenger with a briefing.
The Track is approximately 2.5km long. All drivers must be prepared to stop at all pedestrian crossing points if required.
Most vehicles, unless otherwise agreed, will be kept under cover in the Paddock Marquees in an allocated 6X3m bay. Please be aware that at certain times the public will be given access to these marquees, therefore you must ensure that all possible hazards are minimized and any remaining are supervised at all times.
There is no public access to the Paddock whilst the Track is live. At this point ALL children under 16 and ALL non-essential guests must vacate the Paddock. We ask for your support in helping the Paddock Marshals with this.
There is to be no refueling of cars during public show hours. Any refueling requirements must be communicated to the Track Show Management Team and agreed in advance.
Please help us by making yourself aware of where the nearest fire safety equipment is.
Track conditions
As in previous years, there will be a Red/Amber/Green track condition process in place. This will be in the form of visual signs within the Paddock and at the Start Line, alerting you to the current track conditions and reminding you of the controls imposed and expected of the drivers. These are:
Green: Normal running conditions. Drivers must:
Drive within their capability
Operate the vehicle within its capability
Drive to speed controls in place and as communicated in briefings
Adhere to speed controls in key locations
Amber: Inclement weather or incident occurred on track that requires specific controls, therefore reduced running capacity. Drivers must:
Adhere to MSVR pre-track briefing
Operate strictly within the speed limited set by MSVR
The amber state may only permit a specific type/class of vehicle i.e. no slick tyres, no F1 vehicles
Red: Safety Car procession only. This is a heightened state of track safety with careful control measures, foreseeable in severe weather and seen as the only option to display vehicles on the track. Only selected vehicles will be permitted on the track. Drivers must:
Follow the safety car in procession format only
Not overtake
Not slow down to speed up or put on a display
Adhere to the MSVR pre-track briefing and the direction of the Track Marshals at all times
